Eva-Lotta Ohlsson, Soprano
Eva-Lotta Ohlsson was awarded the 2009 Jenny Lind Scholarship for a performance characterized by vocal beauty of sound and expansion, combined with mature artistry.
Born and raised in Skövde, Sweden, Eva-Lotta has always been interested in music. Her early interest in musicals led her to study dance and theater. Eventually classical music gained the upper hand, and she is now completing her final year at the Opera College in Gothenburg.
Ms Ohlsson also is under a one year contract with the Gothenburg Opera, where she has already performed Barbarina in Mozart's Marriage of Figaro with great success.
She is currently an understudy for the roles of Adéle in Strauss's Die Fledermaus, Musetta in Puccini's La Bohéme, Cleopatra in Handel's Julius Caesar .
Later this spring she will perform in Romeo and Juliet.
Linda Dahl Laursen, Pianist
Linda Dahl Laursen, the recipient of the 2009 Otto Goldschmidt Scholarship, was born and raised in the small town of Struer, Denmark.
After completing her studies at the Music Conservatory in Århus, she crossed the Sound to study at the Music College in Malmö.
Ms Laursen has received a number of awards from such prestigious institutions as the Royal Swedish Academy of Music and the Ljunggrenska Competition in Gothenburg. She has performed as a soloist and as a member of chamber ensembles throughout the Nordic countries.
The scholarships are awarded by the Royal Swedish Academy of Music and the People’s Parks and Community center in Stockholm
